Sarah read music at York University, graduating in 1997 with BA (hons). Sarah continued her studies with Peter Lloyd and Pat Morris at the Royal Northern College of Music and was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance Studies. During her time at the RNCM Sarah received a scholarship from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust.
