Jon Fistein
Cello
Jon Fistein began playing the cello aged four and gained his performance Diploma from the Guildhall School of Music while still at school. He read medicine at Jesus College, Cambridge, where he was awarded an Instrumental Exhibition, and was subsequently awarded a Scholarship at the Royal College of Music. These allowed him to continue his cello studies with Alexander Baillie, Amaryllis Fleming, William Pleeth and Stefan Popov. He continues to play professionally and is in demand as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral free-lancer. He has given numerous recitals in the UK and Europe.
