Jon
Fistein has been playing the cello since the age of four. He and gained a
diploma in cello performance from the Guildhall School of Music
& Drama while still at school. He won an Instrumental
Exhibition at Jesus College, Cambridge, and an Imperial
College / Royal College of Music Scholarship. His teachers include Amaryllis
Fleming, William Pleeth, Alexander Baillie and Stefan Popov.
Jon has given chamber and solo recitals across the UK and
Europe and is particularly keen to introduce English
romantic chamber music to new audiences. He also works as a
freelance orchestral cellist and as a session musician. He
teaches private pupils of all ages and standards.
